Rob Holland has never known a time where he was not completely obsessed with Aviation and Aerobatics. At a young age his Dad brought him to an airshow where he saw an airplane flying upside down, and knew that was what he HAD to do.
Rob first took to the skies at the age of 18 when he became a licensed pilot and hasn’t stopped since! Since then, he has accumulated greater than 9500 hours of flight time in over 156 different types of aircraft ranging from Piper Cubs to Regional Transport Aircraft, gliders to high performance aerobatic machines.
Attending Daniel Webster College in Nashua, NH to start his career in aviation, Rob Holland graduated from the college in 1997 not just one, but two aviation degrees: Bachelor of Science degree in Aviation Management and Bachelor of Science degree in Aviation Flight Operations.
Rob is rated as an Airline Transport Pilot (ATP) with a Certified Flight and Ground Instructor (CFI, CFII, IGI, AGI) rating and also holds a glider rating.
Rob has had a diverse aviation career for a young aviator: flight instructor, banner tow pilot, aircraft ferry pilot, Pilatus PC-12 corporate pilot, and commuter airline pilot. He currently works full-time both domestically and abroad as an professional airshow pilot and an aerobatic flight instructor.
Rob’s infectious, upbeat, and approachable demeanor makes him a favored crowd-pleaser at airshows. His complete love of aviation is immediately apparent to everyone who meets him. Rob hopes to instill into others his insatiable desire to excel and to encourage them to actively pursue their goals and dreams no matter what they are.
Rob Holland’s Accomplishments & Awards
In 2008 Rob Holland became the Advanced World Aerobatic Champion at the 8th Advanced World Aerobatic Championships held in Pendleton, OR and helped pave the way for Team USA to earn the Team Gold Medal that year.
Rob is a three-time member of the United States Advanced Aerobatic Team. He was the top placing American at the 2004, 2006 and 2008 Advanced World Aerobatic Championships (AWAC). Rob placed second over all in the world at the 2006 AWAC held in Radom, Poland and helped the US Aerobatic Team secure second place in the team standings.
In 2008, Rob Holland became the United States National Unlimited Freestyle Champion and was also named the “2008 ASB.tv Person of the Year” for his ongoing support and enthusiasm in the airshow community.
In addition to his recent major accomplishments, Rob has received multiple first place awards in aerobatic competitions both in the United States and Canada early in his career. He was named the New England Competitor of the Year for 2002, 2003, and 2004. He won the “Pitts Trophy” two times and is the Northeast Advanced Aerobatic Champion for 2003, 2004, and 2005.
Rob has a Level One Unrestricted Aerobatic Waiver for airshows. “Solo Aerobatics”, “Formation Aerobatics”, “Circle Jumpers”, and “Wing Walking Pilot” along with numerous aircraft types are authorized on his Low Level Aerobatic Waiver.
Passionate about the continued growth, promotion, and safety of sport aviation and aerobatics, Rob was voted to the Board of Directors of the International Aerobatic Club (IAC) in 2006.
In 2008, Rob was awarded the “Distinguished Alumnus of the Year” Award by the Daniel Webster College Alumni Council.
